Our Pianos
Paul Hahn & Co. specializes in the sale and restoration of vintage Steinway, Heintzman and Nordheimer pianos. We seek to preserve some of the best pianos ever made, many of which were manufactured right here in Toronto. In 1925 there were more than 125 piano makers in Canada alone, and more than 300 in the United States. We take great pride in preserving, promoting and protecting this important part of our North American heritage. We are, however, equally proud of the restoration work we do to any piano, regardless of the manufacturer.

A Greener Approach
Paul Hahn & Co. deals exclusively in and with restored, vintage instruments. While, we do use new steel and copper wound strings, and replace older pinblocks with new ones, we are not creating new pianos, but rather preserve instruments that are already here. All of the lumber required for the frame, soundboard and case has already been felled. All of the ore required to create the iron plate has been mined and refined. We are not only preserving part of our own history, but also helping to protect our environment. Many of the processes associated with the manufacturing of new pianos are highly toxic, whether it is the creation of 'MDF' chipboard or the polyester finishes. At Paul Hahn & Co., we are proud that our environmental 'footprint' is comparatively small. We use only water-based lacquer finishes and maintain a small showroom, workshop and storage facility.
Our Customer Approval Step.
At Paul Hahn & Co., we are proud the work that we do. Whether a piano has been completely restored and refinished, or had some minor repair work done, it is our customer who approves the work. Many of our customers take advantage of the standing invitation to visit our workshop anytime while we are working on his or her piano. In fact, we do not need to be working on your piano. Stop by anytime!
We have many customers that have developed a keen appreciation of the skill required to properly restore and repair pianos, and stop by frequently to see and hear what is happening in our busy workshop. When the technicians have pronounced themselves happy with the work, we invite you to come and see and hear the piano. Your piano does not leave our workshop until you have pronounced yourself satisfied. This has been our guarantee since 1913.
